Weapons determine how Rose attacks, Relics add triggered effects, and Arcana converts boss victories into spells or special actions. Treat them as three connected layers of a build rather than one inventory list: choose an attack style, add effects that support it, then use the Arcana action that fits the fight or route.

This separation is the useful model: weapon first for the move set, Relic second for a conditional bonus, Arcana for a boss-earned action that may also unlock exploration.

Weapons change more than damage

Konami says Belmont’s Curse contains weapons across seven categories. The important difference is not only the number on a weapon: previews describe weapon-dependent attacks when Rose grapples toward an enemy.

Preview exampleDescribed grapple actionPractical tradeoff to test
LongswordCarries forward momentum into a strikeClosing distance while continuing pressure
CestusLaunches an uppercutFast close-range pressure with shorter reach
Great swordProduces a spinning attackBroader coverage with a heavier-feeling commitment

Hobby Consolas reports trying five families in its pre-release session: sword, knuckles, greatsword, spear, and sword-and-shield. It also says weapons were tied to milestones or specific map locations rather than random enemy drops. Those are preview-build observations, so they guide what to look for without proving a complete retail acquisition table.

Cestus is the current actionable weapon pickup

The public Demo gives us one route that can be written as a real acquisition task. After The Fallen grants the Arcane Whip, return to Sewer Reservoir and reveal the hidden anchor above the grate in the huge staircase. The upper chest contains Cestus.

The Demo description says its damage increases as you keep attacking, while PlayStation’s hands-on preview describes it as fast and short-ranged. Choose it when sustained close-range pressure matches your play; do not mistake that for a universal best-weapon claim. Follow the verified Cestus steps.

Relics are defined by trigger and effect

Konami describes Relics as equipment that triggers powerful effects through offense and defense. A useful Relic entry therefore needs two things first: what activates it and what changes afterward.

RelicTrigger or ownership conditionSupported effectCurrent boundary
Crypt KeyOpening a chestRestores health and magic in two preview accountsLocation, prerequisite and public-Demo availability are not confirmed
Twilight GemCasting a spellRaises damage by 30% for three seconds in one preview accountLocation, stacking and public-Demo availability are not confirmed
Family’s GraceIncluded with Midnight EditionNo supported gameplay effect yetDo not infer that it is exclusive to purchase or available through exploration

The preview evidence is enough to explain how Relics can shape a resource loop or a short damage window. It is not enough to publish a locations guide. If you are choosing an edition, separate the known package contents from unknown gameplay value.

Arcana comes from defeated bosses. Holy Cross illustrates a spell; Arcane Whip illustrates a traversal action. This means a build decision can also become a route decision: the next boss reward may alter both your combat options and the rooms worth revisiting.

Read the Arcana system guide for the confirmed boss-to-ability loop, or check the Demo returns that use Arcane Whip.

What to check before copying a build

Before following any future loadout, verify:

  1. The game version and platform match the guide.
  2. The weapon and Relics are actually obtainable at your current progress.
  3. The Relic trigger occurs during the task you are solving.
  4. The chosen Arcana is available and its resource or slot conditions are known.
  5. The recommendation states its tradeoff instead of presenting one setup as universally best.

The current page can explain roles and verified examples. A complete inventory, final slot rules, damage rankings and retail builds still require release-version evidence.
