Defeat The Fallen to unlock the Arcane Whip, then return to Sewer Reservoir. From the grate platform in the middle of the huge background staircase, lash directly upward to reveal a hidden anchor. Hook onto it to reach the upper secret room, then open the large chest for Cestus. Prepare for the enemies that follow.
Before you start
You need the Arcane Whip obtained after The Fallen. Cestus is an optional return after that fight, not a weapon you must obtain to beat it. Check your place in the Paris Demo progression.

Know what you are looking for
Sewer Reservoir is the room immediately after the first Mirror of Life save point. Look for the huge staircase in the background and the grate platform in its middle. The hidden anchor above that platform is the key to the secret room.

Reach the chest
- Return to Sewer Reservoir. Match the area name and the huge background staircase.
- Grapple to the grate platform. Climb through the room until you stand in the middle of the staircase landmark.
- Lash directly upward. Reveal the hidden anchor above you, then hook onto it and propel yourself up.
- Enter the upper secret room. Find the large chest and use the interaction prompt shown by your game.
- Confirm the Cestus reward. The chest gives a congratulatory message and the weapon; prepare for the following enemy encounter.

Cestus route checks
Use these landmarks in order. This is a decision aid, not a scaled map.
- 01Unlock Arcane WhipDefeat The Fallen first
- 02Return to Sewer ReservoirStand on the staircase platform
- 03Reveal the anchorAttack directly above the platform
- 04Open the upper chestConfirm the Cestus reward

Check where you are stuck
- No grapple ability yet: finish The Fallen first. Practise the three-hit claw response if that sequence is stopping you.
- The platforms lead nowhere: stand on the grate in the middle of the staircase and lash directly upward. Repeated jumping does not replace revealing the hidden anchor.
- No matching staircase: check that you are in Sewer Reservoir. The Abandoned Sewers statue landmarks describe different rooms.
- At the chest: interact and check that the reward screen names Cestus. Use your own platform’s prompts rather than a copied controller button.
Is Cestus worth the detour?
The Demo’s Cestus description says its damage increases as you keep attacking. PlayStation’s hands-on preview describes it as fast and short-ranged. Try it if you want sustained close-range attacks; its reach is a tradeoff, and this is not a best-weapon ranking.
You can continue toward the rooftop without collecting it. Compare the other useful returns, or compare weapon, Relic and Arcana roles.
